This is not really a showpiece, but just one example of some of the modification ideas that musicians come up with.
The owner was originally an upright bass player, so he wanted to play this guitar both as an upright bass and as a regular electric bass.
I made a big brass insert and installed a long steel rod that goes through it. Like this, the guitar can be played in an upright position. The rod is, of course, adjustable in height. When the musician wants to play the instrument as a regular electric bass, he can use this insert as a strap pin.
It’s a great idea, but it’s not stable when it’s in the upright position. Some kind of spacer in between the guitar and the musician would be needed to stop the guitar from rotating.
